Restaurant Am Gleis in Oberbozen

This time we are travelling along the track with our Bahnl, because in the immediate vicinity of Oberbozen station there has been a new, old restaurant, "Am Gleis", since 2020. Old, because we still know it as Restaurant Anna, new, because it has new owners with new ideas.
Behind the bar, the restaurant "Am Gleis", as it is so aptly called, is a whole family. The beginning was anything but easy for the Unterhofer Postal family. On 8 March 2020, they invited guests to the opening of their new restaurant and were already looking forward to spoiling their guests a few days later. But no sooner had Corona opened than the motivated family closed their new restaurant again.
Just like some of their other fellow restaurants, they made the best of it and also offered a delivery and pick-up service during the transition period.
We don't need to introduce Armin Unterhofer to most on the Ritten. Armin grew up in a family of innkeepers and took over the parental Gasthof Berger in Oberbozen after his apprenticeship. Later he ran the Gasthoff Schluff and then also worked as a chef at the Hotel Lichtenstern. Before Armin and his family took the step of buying their own business, they were tenants at the Hotel Südtirolerhof for years.
What is the recipe for success of the restaurant "Am Gleis"? Armin's already well-known, creative and popular cuisine, a nice range of cocktails alà Wolfi and the friendly service with Luigina & Irene. Of course, who should not be missing is "the man for all occasions", a man you can use anywhere, which in this case is Armin's & Luigina's son Ivan. Daughter Irene is also responsible for communication and, as the family says, the link between all areas. Luigina has many other tasks in the business besides service. She emphasises that she is particularly happy when she can create oases of well-being for her guests. Son-in-law Wolfgang, a bartender with a passion that you can taste, is also known as the "magician behind the bar". He looks back on experiences outside South Tyrol such as in Zurich, Kaprun and also on Lake Garda. In South Tyrol, he has "conjured up" cocktails with a lot of imagination at the Parkhotel Laurin and the Parkhotel Holzner.
What luck when a whole family from father to son-in-law stands behind a business.

Armin is pleased that his guests appreciate the creativity in the kitchen. Every month there are new dishes on the menu and regular customers report that you can go on a culinary journey in the restaurant "Am Gleis", starting in South Tyrol via the Mediterranean to Asia.
For the entire Unterhofer Postal family, the well-being of their guests is the focus and their motto is "Eating is a need, enjoying is an art" according to the quote by François de La Rochefoucauld.
