“The machinist turns the crank, the car spins and purrs, a small jerk, then it starts moving…” This is a quote from 1907, when the people of Bolzano took the railway Ritten to the sunny high plateau for their summer holiday. Even today, after 120 years, our railway still runs between Klobenstein, Oberbozen and Maria Himmelfahrt as the only narrow-gauge railway in South Tyrol and as a popular, environmentally friendly means of transport.

Dedicated day to the Ritten Railway – 28th may and 24th September 2027
Tour through the carriage with the railway experts Martin Broy & Klaus Demar, followed by a timetabled journey from Klobenstein to Oberbozen & guided tour through the carriage at Oberbozen.
At 1.10 p.m. special ride with the historic railcar from Oberbozen to Maria Himmelfahrt.
Meeting point: Klobenstein railway station at 10 a.m.
Price: € 10,- for adults / € 5,- for children between 6 and under 14 years
