„Whoever wants to see Tyrol with one glance must climb this mountain“.
Ludwig Purtscheller, an alpinist at the end of the 19th Century described the panorama from the Rittner Horn thus. No peak interrupts the view through the 360 degree panorama which opens around one. Besides the Dolomites, which spread in a bow from the south east to the south, there is an imposing view from Peitlerkofel past the Geisslerspitz to Schlern and then further past Rosengarten and Latemar to the Schwarz- and Weisshorn mountains. 
To the north is the expanse of the Sarntaler Alps, and behind them the Stubaier Alps. On a very clear day one can see Ortler from the Rittner Horn and with a great deal of luck you can also glimpse the Grossglockener to the east.

An excursion to the Rittner Horn on a clear day is a memorable experince. The summit of 2,260 metres is reachable by a trip on the cable car from Pemmern to the Schwarseespitze and then a walk of about an hour, which is possible for everybody.
